Bulletin - May, 2021
Two for One!
It's finally happened - we're getting a reasonable number of doses to give to our eligible patients!
From 21st May, our number of doses will go up from 100 per fortnight to 300. This is great news, as it means that our clinics won't grind to a halt once we commence second doses from 6th July and we'll able to continue to offer initial doses!
To capitalise on the increased availability, we'll be modifying our clinic model as follows:
- From 20th May, we'll be running 2 COVID clinics per week on consecutive days. This will allow us to temporarily double our number of initial doses offered until 6th July (it is anticipated that the number of available doses will again double during July to continue offering the vaccine to both 1st and 2nd dose recipients).
- Second doses will be supervised by nursing staff, given that patients will have already given consent prior to dose 1. For patients attending the practice for dose 2 only, we'll still need to obtain either a new consent, or their consent from their previous vaccine provider.
- If you previously volunteered to support either the COVID AND FLU clinics, you may find yourself allocated additional supervisions on one of these days during May/June (see below).
- If you need to swap a supervision,
please try and do so amongst yourselves FIRST; if you can't arrange a cover,
then
let me know!

Using My Health Record...
The My Health Record system has gradually been improving:
- A vaccination summary (created since the beginning of the COVID rollout)
- Patients have the option to have pathology results uploaded from Laverty, DHM and Australian Clinical Labs
- Medicare summaries (visits by item number and dispensed medications - useful for new patients or patients that attend multiple practices).
To access a record, push
CRTL
and
F9.
This will open the document list (NB: if a patient's My Health Record button is
RED, this may simply mean the record has never been accessed from this site):
