Health Summaries for Hospitals
"Can we get a health summary faxed for...?"
Because the rollout of digital health in Australia has been quite slow, hospitals or remote general practices may need us to send patient health summaries from time to time to ensure continuity of care. Fortunately, this is quite easy to do:
1. Open the patient file in Best Practice.
2. Once opened, go to File
and select Print Health Summary:
3. Once the new window opens, simply click Print, and then fax the printed summary to the requesting hospital.
OK, got it!
N.B: Unlike other record transfers, sending Health Summaries to hospitals does NOT require a patient signature.
