Spring Has...Yeah.
While the seasonal change has brought some welcome warmer weather, we are still sadly seeing daily Delta cases increasing (despite the curve slowly starting to turn). The only silver lining being that the vaccination rates across the country have steadily increased, and our own Pfizer clinics will be starting in the next fortnight, meaning that we'll continue to play a role in the Commonwealth vaccination rollout!

Sara and Natalie (L-R) will be joining the admin team - Natalie has already been with us for a month on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with Sara joining this week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We're thrilled to have the extra help at the desk, and hope we can make them both feel welcome!
COVID Clinics - what Comes Next...
On Friday, 27th August, CSMP ran our FINAL Dose 1 Clinic for AstraZeneca - all clinics currently booked are for Dose 2 AZ patients; with the changing advice regarding the timing of second doses, these dose clinics have expanded considerably from their initial set up, with other vaccine providers misallocating or under-ordering another factor affecting the number of the clinics on offer at CSMP. It's worth noting the immense contribution that nurses Aimee Martinez and Julie Honeychurch have made in ensuring these clinics have been adequately stocked and run as efficiently as they have been! At this stage, our last AZ second dose clinic will be at the end of October/beginning of November.
To help manage the numbers and to ensure that the workload is evenly spread, please take a look at the new roster below:

Pfizer Clinics - 17th Sept...
From the 17th September, we'll begin our run of Pfizer clinics for eligible patients. Here's the short version:
- Patients aged 12-59 will be eligible for the Pfizer vaccine.
- ALL BOOKINGS for PFIZER will be ONLINE: patients will need to go to either the practice's web platform or the National COVID Eligibility Checker to book their dose.
- GPs to BOOK CRITICAL PATIENTS: we're holding off an activating the online system until GPs have had a chance to book their higher risk and eligible patients themselves. Please book patients straight in to the Pfizer Clinics (Dose 1 - Room A or B) lists! Once our first doses arrive, the system will go active (anticipated arrival - 10th Sept).
- CURRENT ALLOCATION - 300 doses per FORTNIGHT: Given this allocation, we are aiming to run 2 clinics per week with 60 patients, leaving 30 doses to be used ad hoc if eligible patients attend in consult (a new Pfizer consent can be found in BP under CSMP - COVID Consent (Pfizer). We may look to reorganise this configuration soon to best use our resources - more info to come as availability changes!
Responding to Messages...
Just to clarify the message from BP last month...or potentially make it worse:
- When you receive a message from CSMP Online Rx and Referrals, just hit 'reply'. No further action is needed!
- If you're sending paperwork to a patient at the end of a Telehealth consult, or asking admin to follow up on missing results or outstanding paperwork, please tick the A - RECEPTION box when messaging so ALL reception staff can follow up for you.

Coming Events...
- Until the current outbreak and vaccination programme stabilises, Practice Lunches will be postponed.
- Doctors' Committee meetings will now all be conducted using Microsoft Teams due to the continued quarantining of Zoom on the Practices' firewall following a malware attack. If you are conducting any sessions for universities or college examinations, you may need to BYOD ('Bring Your Own Device'). Contact me if you need further advice!
